What I'm Listening To

Sunday is a day of rest, usually

Sunday morning was the present frenzy, I’d bought a raft of presents for her and so had everyone else so happiness all round! After a huge fryed breakfast we turned our backs on the country life and headed back across the water to civilisation. Thankfully we only lost about 40 mins in the roadworks on the way back – plenty of time to listen to the CD’s I’d got her (one of which was The Detroit Cobra’s album Love and Leaving , great stuff!).

Once back we snatched some downtime before my sister came round with more presents and we opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Much chat and laughter gave way when they had to leave, so we seized the initiative and stumbled to TGI Friday’s for cocktails – I had a Martini and then something red. Suitably juiced we made a quick pit stop in Bar Khol for a Honey Monster (Absynth, Honey Vodka and something else) before hitting The Outsider for dinner. Great food as always, although the service was rubbish – the girl threw down our champagne (just to continue the theme) and didn’t pour it, and then gave us the wrong bill - I was in no state to realize so paid anyway, only for the manager to slip me £20 on the way out to cover the over-spend. Once again, a top night!

Comments:
TGI Fridays used to be the ultimate place to go when I was younger, don't like it now... I like DRAFT ALE, ee oop, and I don't like cocktails like that any more. they'are all sweet and fruity, just alco slush puppies... tut, I'm so sophisticated these days!

You are dominating the popex blogs page, now I managed to import you... http://www.popex.com/popEx/7/board.html

TGI's was great, the cocktail part was deserted so we had a great laugh. The Barman had a massive cut on his nose with stitches, I thought it was part of his costume (the whole staff were dressed for halloween) but apparently it was real - he fell face first onto a pint glass in his flat, had to go to A&E with a sliver on glass in his nose. Nice.
